Cabárceno
Nature Park is a spectacular paradise of fauna that
shelters hundreds of animals in semi-wild conditions
that represent species from zoological communities all
across the world. In this reserve, home to endangered
species, one can observe an incomparable display of
animals like in no other corner of Europe: Tigers, bears,
lions, jaguars, elephants, rhinoceroses, giraffes, buffalos…
that live and reproduce in a millennial habitat tha
t has been
restored today to its former glory.
The exotic
fauna steals the show in the park, where you can see
elephants, hippopotamus,
tigers, lions, ostriches, hyenas, giraffes, zebras,
Bactrian and dromedary camels, llamas, kangaroos, antelopes,
rhinoceroses, monkeys…
Compared
to other wildlif e
parks, Cabárceno is characterised by the huge amount
of space for the animals to roam in, which allows for
them to develop freely and be observed in the most natural
setting possible. There are also several lakes for those
who wish to practice trout fishing.
Located
10km away from Somo, Cabárceno Nature Park extends down
the hillside to the south of the Peñacabarga Massif,
and covers 750 hectares.
The grounds
are home to more than 1000 animals and 111 different
species from the five continents.
